GILFORD TAX RATE DOWN $1.26
The State Department of Revenue Administration has set the 2006 Gilford Tax Rate at $15.83 per $1,000 assessed valuation, a decrease of $1.26 from the 2005 rate, according to Town Administrator Evans Juris.
The Town portion of the tax rate decreased $.14 to $4.54, from $4.68 in 2005.
The County tax rate has dropped from $1.33 to $1.24.
The School tax rate dropped to $10.05 from $11.08 in 2005. This is made up of the local portion of $7.73, compared to $8.57 in 2005 and the State portion of $2.32, compared to $2.51 in 2005.
A total of 7.8% of Gilford’s tax dollars go to Belknap County, 28.7% fund Town operations, 48.8% to local School operations and 14.7% will go to fund State education.
The Gunstock Acres Water Precinct is $.19, compared to $.34 in 2005.
