Laconia Savings Bank Donates to Video Cause
The Laconia Savings Bank has donated $1,000.00 to assist in the purchase and installation of equipment to video record public meetings in Gilford, for re-broadcast on Lakes Region Public Access Television. Elaine Miller, Vice-President/Office Manager of the Laconia Savings Bank – Gilford Branch, presented Town Administrator Evans Juris with the contribution on Friday, December 22, 2006.
The project, which is being led by Town Administrator Evans Juris, is aimed at providing more information to the residents and taxpayers on the local government process within Gilford.
The initial plan is to record the Selectmen’s meetings, and to eventually add other committee meetings, like the Budget Committee or Planning Board.
The cost for the project, which was initially around $10,000, has been reworked because the funding of the project is being attempted to be completed without expending money from the general operating budget.
The Town is accepting funding donations towards the project and hopes to have the program in place as soon as possible. It had hoped to do this by December 1.
