Gilford Online with Municipal Agent Automated Program (MAAP) DMV & Spring/Summer Reminders:
Gilford Citizens - Denise Morrissette, Town Clerk – Tax Collector for the Town of Gilford is announcing that her office went online with the DMV using MAAP last week. MAAP will increase many types motor vehicle services available to citizens. Morrissette is informing the public to expect delays for processing during the transition period (over the next few weeks) and to plan for extra time accordingly. The TC- TC staff is busy learning new software, procedures for processing registrations and appreciates your patience.
Below are some most popular transactions that may now be processed at the Town Hall with an additional charge of $2.50 agent fee per transaction:
· Issue vanity (initial) plates at renewal or first registration on vehicle.
· Process registrations up to 26,000 pounds – any type of plate except APRO and SEMIT plates
· Late renewals up to 12 months late with the exception of 4 digit PASS and COMM plates which are limited to 30 days
· Transfer 4 digit PASS and COMM privileged plates as long as there is no ownership change
· Same Lease to Same Lease Transfers (ex: *GMAC previous vehicle lease transferring to *GMAC new vehicle lease; *Ford Motor Credit previous vehicle lease transferring to *Ford Motor Credit) as long as the second named lessee from previous vehicle remains on the new paperwork.
· Process title applications
· Issue “Moose” plates
· Replace full set of plates (damaged and lost plates)
· Order one replacement plate
· Replace decals (lost and damaged)
· Provide certified copies of current registrations
· Change of address for individuals and corporate
· Issue gift certificates
· Renew Moped with mailer from the DMV (New Registrations Concord only).
Below is a list of most popular transactions that can not be completed at Town Hall and MUST be completed at the DMV or a Sub-station is as follows: (Always remember to process the Town part of the registration at Town Hall prior to going to the DMV for completion. The Clerk’s Office must prepare the documentation before the State portion is completed – call if you have questions.):
· Not allowed to issue these plate types: APRO, HCAP, VETE, ANTI, PURP, FPOW, CONEQ
· Not allowed to register vehicles over 26,000 lbs.
· Not allowed to renew permanent plates
· Not allowed to perform lease transfers when there is any change in ownership. Referred to as lease to lease transfer - using two different leasing companies (ex: *GMAC to *Ford Motor Credit), lease to owner transfer - leasing previous vehicle and transferring to new vehicle in personal name (ex: *GMAC to D. Morrissette) or owner to lease - old vehicle in personal name transferring to a newly leased vehicle (ex: D.Morrissette to *GMAC)
· Not allowed to perform plate swaps
· Not allowed to register or Transfer APRO plates or SEMIT body styles
· Not allowed to issue 20-day plates
· Not allowed to issue certified copy of expired registrations

* Leasing company examples are being used as examples only and are not intended for advertising or preferential purposes – they are being used for clarity purposes only. Any leasing company (way too many to list!) would work the same way in the examples shown.
These are additional services to citizens that are being added to the current services already available.
Morrissette would also like to remind residents of the following Spring/Summer items that are now available:
· Dog licenses are due before June 1st to avoid further penalties ($25.00 Civil Forfeiture Fine + 1.00 per month late fee)
· Boat registrations are available (Register here and keep your tax dollars local)
· Town facility stickers (current registration or copy required to issue) Also needed for Spring Clean-up week 4/26/08 – 5/4/08 held at Gilford Recycling Center (contact DPW (603) 527-4778 for more information.
· Guest cards and island resident stickers (current registration or copy required to issue) are currently available.
· 2007 Delinquent taxes (Property, Sewer, Water and any other unpaid “tax” bill) will be going to lien on May 5, 2008 at 4:30 p.m. Certified letters have been mailed to delinquent property owners.
For residents not able to come in during regular business hours (M, TU, W, & F 8am-4:30pm & TH 8am-6:30 pm) you may register your vehicles on the Town website using the E-Reg process. Please feel free to call the Town Clerk’s office directly at (603) 527-4713 if you have any questions or if you need to process transactions through the mail ($1.50 processing fee will be added).
