The Office of Town Clerk-Tax Collector is an appointed boat registration agent each year on a seasonal basis in accordance with rules of the Department of Safety. The State of New Hampshire mails renewal boat registration forms each year. Boat registrations contain an expiration date of December 31 of each year. If the renewal forms are received prior to the expiration date, the renewal cannot be completed until the State of New Hampshire provides the agents with the next year decals.
You are encouraged to do new or renewal registrations at this office or any Gilford boat agent (other than New Hampshire Marine Patrol). Taxes collected through the boat registration process in Gilford will stay in Gilford to help defray property taxes. Mailing of renewal forms directly to the State of New Hampshire will not result in tax money being credited to the Town. Note: there is a $1.50 agent fee per vessel upon completion at the Town Clerks Office. |
