GILFORD VOTERS:
The Town Clerk – Tax Collector’s Office has been assisting the State of New Hampshire, Secretary of State’s Office with updating information for the new centralized voter database. The centralized database is a Federal requirement and must be in place by 2006. Most of you have been on the voter checklist for many years and the NH Driver’s License number or last 4-digits of your social security number were not require at the time of registration. However, the new law requires that we update your voter information to include the NH driver’s license number or last 4-digits of your social security number. You may update your NH driver’s license number/last 4-digits of your social security number information by mailing it into the office at:

townclerk-taxcollector@gilfordnh.org or by bringing the information in by person to the Town Clerk’s Office. The staff in the TC-TC Office will be asking for the information as you come in.
Registration:
If you are 18 years of age, a citizen of the United States and a resident of Gilford you may fill out a voter registration card at the Office of Town Clerk-Tax Collector. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m, and Thursday 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. The voter card is forwarded to the Supervisors of the Checklist who will then determine eligibility for addition to the voter checklist. Picture identification is required. Proof of age and citizenship may also be required.
The Supervisors of the Checklist also hold sessions in accordance with the requirements of state law. The sessions are held at the Office of Town Clerk-Tax Collector and are either evening or Saturday hours. The law also requires posting of those sessions in the local newspaper. You may also register to vote on Election Day at the polling place.
