Building & Grounds is responsible for the daily maintenance and cleaning of all town-owned buildings and lands. Much of the work is contracted out to private vendors.
There are two full time custodians, Dee Chitty (Lead Custodian) and Jim Dinan, who assist in performing the daily cleaning and care of the Town Hall, Police Station, Fire – Rescue, Library, DPW, Glendale comfort station and adjacent out buildings. Currently, it is more economical to perform the custodial work in house verses a private vendor.
The Town buildings are being used more during the day and evening, and thereby increasing the importance of having staff available for building security and maintenance.
