Gilford's Public Works garage maintains its own vehicles with two full time mechanics that are skilled in diesel, gas, 2-cycle, and hydraulic repair. In addition, both are exceptional welders and fabricators. They maintain all town-owned vehicles and equipment which include police cruisers, fire apparatus, dump trucks, cars, pickups, power hand tools, grader, loaders, backhoe, and a number of other specialty items. Their duties also entail performing preventive maintenance and running a comprehensive capital improvement program. The
capital improvement program ensures all equipment is both maintained and in good working order should the Town wish to trade or sell to gets the best return on its investment.
