Facility Planning Committee Minutes
Gilford Town Hall
Monday December 04, 2006
Call to Order: 5:05 PM
Present: Bill Rohr, James Mull, John O’Brien, Steve Grant, Dale
Channing Eddy, Dennis Doten, Andrew Howe
Absent: Anthony Ferruolo
· Steve Grant reported that Mr. Stewart’s work is progressing slower that originally thought and that priority business matters were the cause. Committee members articulated their support of the volunteer efforts of Mr. Stewart and entirely understood the situation.
· John O’Brien provided a summary of the November 30th Workshop (Obtaining Community Acceptance of Your Building Program) in Concord. He said that some of the key issues facing our committee will be to provide public opportunity with the purpose of establishing community ownership of the project, while creating partnerships that embraces a quality product the residents can afford, that also meets the needs of the police department.
· A motion for the committee to wait until the 2008 Annual Meeting before bring forward the final warrant article for the proposed building renovation/addition was presented by: Andrew Howe – motion second by: Dale Channing Eddy. Brief discussion followed by several members. Concerns of a missed opportunity of recently seen reduced labor costs may result by the delay. However, all members did not think the committee could provide a finished project by the January warrant deadline. Motion - PASSED by all members.
· Motion to accept 11/20/06 minutes by: Bill Rohr – second by: Steve Grant - motion PASSED.
· Discussion by all committee members was generated with respect to the next meeting date. It was agreed that our next meeting should coincide with Mr. Stewart completing his footprint. That in the absence of a footprint there was no critical need to meet. Steve Grant said he would inform James Mull in advance of the next meeting as to M. Stewart’s progress.
· Motion to close this meeting was made by: Bill Rohr - motion second by: John O’Brien – motion PASSED.
Adjourned: 6:30 PM
Respectfully,
James V. Mull
