GILFORD PUBLIC LIBRARY TRUSTEES
MINUTES of 12/9/08
Present:
The Board of Trustees meeting was called to order at 8:43 by Chairman Robert Kammeraad. Robert Kammeraad, Weldon Bosworth, Katherine Dormody, Tracey Petrozzi, and Polly Sanfacon were present. Daryl Thompson did not attend.
Minutes
The minutes of 11/11/08 and 11/12/08 were accepted as circulated.
New Personnel Policy
The draft 2009 Town of Gilford personnel policies manual dated 12/9/08 was reviewed and discussed. After discussion and upon recommendation of Katherine, the Board voted to approve and adopt these policies with one addendum,
“VIII. 11 Addendum
Library employees will report ten (10) minutes before the library opens or stay ten (10) minutes after the library closes, as scheduled, and will be paid for a thirty (30) minute meal break.”
Budget 2008
The budget cuts proposed by the budget committee were discussed and it was agreed to request about $3600 of the proposed cuts reinstituted. This request would be in the following budgetary line items: computer maintenance, supplies, postage, etc.
Personnel
Personnel change forms were signed by the board. These included:
1) Salary increase for Betty Tidd, and
2) Move to regular part time for Jeanne Clarke.
Reports/Programs
Circulation up somewhat; adults upstairs is up and downstairs is down. Other circulation data discussed.
Issues with purchase of new copier. We discussed resolution.
Information on December programs distributed. The library has brought back foreign movie night for adults.
Friends of the Library
The store is now open 6 hours/wk.~
Loan interest is approximately $400/mo.~and land did not sell.~
