Dear Visitors,

Welcome to our new webpage that is especially designed for Seasonal Residents.  Please understand this site is still under construction and we hope to constantly improve its development.  In addition, this webpage will be updated on a regular basis, particularly during the summer months.  Thanks to those of you who provided us with input on what type of information you would like to see included.

We have included links to the Town Beach Policy, Glendale Regulations (updated in February 2011) and the Boat Trailer Parking Facility Regulations.  Additionally, you will see links to the Parks & Recreation Department, Gilford Public Library and Gilford’s Single Stream Recycling Program.

Because it is a Town policy not to include links to commercial entities, we have instead included a link to the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce.  This is a very comprehensive website that includes area attractions, lodging, restaurants and shopping.  We did provide direct links to the Gunstock Mountain Resort (a county entity) and Ellacoya State Park (NH State Beach & RV Park).

More specific information about lake-related matters can be accessed through links to the Lakes Region Association, Winnipesaukee.com, NH Marine Patrol, the NH Shoreland Program and the NH Exotic Species Program.

The link to the Nixle Information Service is an opportunity for the public to subscribe to a service that delivers trustworthy and important neighborhood-level public safety and community event notifications instantly by cell phone text message, email, and web.  This service is available through the Gilford Police Department, who periodically utilize it as an effective means of resident notification.  Also included is a link to the Timberman Triathlon, which is scheduled this year for August 18-19, 2012.

We have received requests for various types of financial information, some of which have already been posted on the Town’s website for the past few years.  Please feel free to view the Finance Department’s link to view Accounts Payable Manifests with information on payments made to vendors.  The 2012 Accounts Payable Manifests are now available, as well the 2012 Expenditure and Revenue Reports.  The final 2012 budget figures can also be accessed.

We will also be striving to provide more information about property assessments, abatement applications, and land use regulations that may be of particular concern to seasonal residents.

The union contracts for the Teamsters (Police Department) and AFSCME (Public Works Department) have recently been added to the Forms and Documents Section of the website, under Selectmen/Town Administrator.  Our Personnel Policies have also been available on the website for some time, so the public should have a fairly good picture of the terms and conditions applicable to Gilford Town employees.

We encourage you to check back frequently for updates and new information.

Our long-term goal is to provide as much information as possible in an attempt to be open and transparent with regards to policies and finances.

Comments, questions or suggestions can be directed to selectmen@gilfordnh.org.
