GILFORD BOARD OF SELECTMEN
WORK SESSION
FEBRUARY 5, 2008
The Board of Selectmen convened in a work session on Tuesday, February 5, 2008, at 8:30 a.m., at the Gilford Town Hall, 47 Cherry Valley Road, Gilford, NH. Selectmen present were Chairman Alice Boucher and Connie Grant and Gus Benavides. Also present was Town Administrator Evans Juris.
The Selectmen recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
Energy Committee Strategic Plan Review
The Board of Selectmen met with Patrick McKenna of the Gilford Energy Committee.
The Board of Selectmen and Patrick McKenna went through the Organization Structure and Strategic Plan that was originally given to the Board of Selectmen on January 23, 2008.
They conducted a page by page review of the plan. Various items were discussed on pages 2, 8, 11 and 14.
The Board of Selectmen commended the work that has been done to date by the Committee and asked that the Board of Selectmen be kept informed of the Committee’s progress.
Alpine Drive
Selectman Grant moved to approve the Quitclaim Deed to Janet E. Elkin of 42 Alpine Drive. This was done after a public hearing on January 9, 2008 and January 23, 2008, as required under RSA 41:14. Selectman Benavides seconded. Motion carried.
Town Clerk/Tax Collector Position
The Board of Selectmen met with Town Clerk/Tax Collector Denise Morrissette and Deputy Town Clerk/Tax Collector Jennifer Mooney, relative to filling a current opening in their office.
Denise explained the general operations of the department and hardships of not having the position filled. They discussed hours of operation also.
Denise indicated that with the position restored, her hours for the office will be 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (open to public), 4:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. (for cash up) and Thursdays 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. (closed 6:30 – 7:00 p.m. for cash up). Hours will begin on Monday, February 11, 2008.
Selectman Benavides moved to allow the position in the Town Clerk/Tax Collector’s Office to be filled. Selectman Grant seconded. Motion carried.
Non-Public Session – RSA 91-A:3 II (a)
Selectman Grant moved to enter non-public session on a roll call vote at 9:57 a.m. Selectman Benavides seconded. Motion carried.
During non-public session, personnel matters were discussed with the Town Administrator Evans Juris and Assistant Town Administrator Debra Shackett. No action was taken.
The Board exited non-public session and adjourned at 11:35 a.m.
