Official Town Records & Meeting Minutes

By state statute, the Town Clerk is the official town record keeper. Official town records back to 1812 incorporation are on file in the Office of Town Clerk-Tax Collector. They are open for inspection.  Due to space restraints, an appointment is recommended.

The Town Clerk is also the keeper of the Town seal. Certified copies of town records are also available at a fee of $3.00 per page.

Original meeting minutes are kept on file in the Office of Town Clerk-Tax Collector. Under the Right to Know law, each Board and Committee provides draft and final meeting minutes. For example, Board of Selectmen, Planning Board, Conservation Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustment, Fire Engineers and many other boards and commissions regularly file minutes with this office. Many of the minutes date back to early 1970's.

Minutes are open records and are available for inspection as staff and room allows. It is suggested that an appointment be made in advance to ensure sufficient space is available.
